  • Wear cotton clothes while bursting crackers
  • Store fireworks in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources
  • Dispose of used fireworks properly by soaking them in water
  • Keep pets indoors during fireworks to prevent distress
  • Check wind direction before lighting to avoid accidents

DON'Ts

  • Don't light fireworks indoors or in confined spaces
  • Never try to relight a "dud" firework; wait 20 minutes and soak it
  • Don't carry fireworks in your pocket or in loose clothing
  • Never point fireworks at people or property
  • Don't use damaged or wet fireworks, they can be unpredictable
  • Never smoke while handling fireworks or near storage areas
  • Don't make homemade fireworks, it's extremely dangerous and illegal
  • Never use fireworks under the influence of alcohol or drugs
